SACHEM, Inc. Announces Joint Venture with Nagase & Co. Offering TMAH Recycle Technology

SACHEM’s Mobius System™ is “green” technology designed to protect environment through minimization of chemical waste and water consumption while providing safe, readily available supply of high quality TMAH.

Osaka, Japan – January 25, 2008 – SACHEM, Inc., the world’s leader in Tetramethylammonium Hydroxide (TMAH) development, recycle and production technology is pleased to announce the formation of a Joint Venture with Nagase & Co., Ltd., Osaka, Japan to jointly market SACHEM’s Mobius System™ TMAH recycle technology within Asia. The new company, SN Tech Corporation will be based in Osaka, Japan and will utilize SACHEM’s current TMAH recycle facility as its base of operations. The joint venture will target the rapidly growing LCD industry in Asia, with a primary focus on Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China to address increasing concerns regarding environmental protection by minimizing chemical waste and water consumption.

The joint venture has achieved full-scale production ramp up in Osaka, Japan during the past 22 months and has fully commercialized the TMAH recycle technology. The technology is designed to provide significant savings through the decrease of water-treatment facility capital investments while providing water for reuse and safe, readily available, high-quality TMAH on-site.

John Mooney, SACHEM President & CEO said “This joint venture with Nagase is another example of SACHEM’s continued commitment to providing solutions to our customer’s most demanding challenges. SACHEM completed its first Mobius System™ TMAH recycling facility in Higashi Osaka, Japan in 2006 and most recently celebrated the opening ceremony of its world scale TMAH production facility in Wuxi, P.R.C. This joint venture will allow the rapid introduction of Mobius System™ to the Asia market but more importantly demonstrates SACHEM’s ability to respond to customer requests for ‘Green’ solutions for their environmental concerns.”

Jerry Windisch, President, SACHEM Asia also adds “Nagase’s familiarity with TMAH recycle systems with LCD fabs makes them an ideal partner for the promotion of the Mobius System™. SACHEM’s patented technology is the only system that is completely closed loop, taking spent TMAH developer from the photolithography process in a fab and regenerating it to ultra pure TMAH for reuse. The Mobius System™ can be employed directly on the fab site or within a reasonable transportation distance.”

The joint venture, SN Tech Corporation began commercial operations on January 17, 2008. The Mobius SystemTM has already been adopted as the process of choice by one of the world’s leading LCD manufacturer and discussions are underway with all major LCD manufacturers in Asia.
