Tetrabutylammonium Hydroxide (TBAH) CAS# 2052-49-5

Tetrabutylammonium Hydroxide (TBAH/TBAOH/TBA-OH) is an strong organic base that can be used in a variety of applications from advanced semiconductors to organic chemistry.  TBAH is used as an eluent and regenerant for ion chromatography.Tetrabutylammonium Hydroxide

SACHEM supplies TBAH in a variety of concentrations and solvents like methanol.

One example is with Sonogashira couplings, which is the reaction between a terminal alkyne and an aryl or vinyl halide in the presence of a base. This powerful synthetic reaction normally requires anhydrous and anaerobic conditions.  In this reaction, TBAH provided better yields of 84%. KOH gave only a 3% yield.
