Benzyltrimethylammonium Hydroxide in Methanol (BzTMAH in MeOH) offers improved reactivity in a wide variety of base catalyzed organic reactions and in a wide variety of organic solvents.   It has a low metal content and has a high pH. Compared to other strong bases, it provides improved solubility in hydroxylic (alcohol) and non-hydroxylic solvents. In cases where there must be absolute removal of the base catalyst, BzTMAH in MeOH is easily detected by UV absorption.
