| SACHEM, Inc. announces new creation of NEW Asian organization |

Austin, TX - August 29, 2003 - Effective September 1, SACHEM, Inc. will consolidate all of its Asian operations under one wholly owned subsidiary, SACHEM Asia Co., LTD. The new organization will be headquartered in Osaka, Japan and will support SACHEM�s full line of high purity and precision based chemical products for the Electronics, Life Sciences, Polymers and Catalyst industries. As part of this restructuring, SACHEM has acquired the remaining shares of its Tetramethylammonium Hydroxide (TMAH) joint venture, SACHEM SHOWA Co., LTD. from Showa Denko K.K. its former partner. Showa Denko will continue to support the TMAH manufacturing operation in Japan and will serve as a distributor of TMAH at selected customers. SACHEM Asia Co., LTD., will consolidated its manufacturing operations in Japan under the new organization and has started evaluating new investment opportunities in China, Taiwan and Korea for the introduction of its full product line and recently developed TMAH recycling technology.
