SACHEM has been a proud member of the Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates (SOCMA) and worked to enact the Codes of Management Practices for the Responsible Care® Initiative.  We still follow those guidelines at our site in Europe and now the new ChemStewards® Initiative at our facilities in the U.S. 

These initiatives drive our continuous improvement in the areas of HSE, operations, community involvement, and product stewardship.  It provides a sound structure for our commitment to you on safety, health, and environment.

ChemStewards®
ChemStewards is a flexible environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) program that promotes continuous performance improvement in chemical manufacturing. The program, which was developed by SOCMA to respond to members' needs, offers a three-tiered approach to participation: Fundamentals, Enhanced Performance, and Excellence. This approach was developed to ensure that program implementation can be tailored to best meet a company's individual needs.

Responsible Care®
The Responsible Care® initiative is built around 10 Guiding Principles and six Codes of Management Practices.
