SACHEM's Displacers for Protein Purification Highlighted at PREP 2008.
(Austin, TX) - June 4, 2008 -  SACHEM will be exhibiting at PREP booth #405 in San Jose June 16-18, 2008.  Dr. Barry Haymore, Director of New Technology Development, will be presenting a poster on SACHEM's displacers for use in displacement chromatography.

The poster, titled "Improving Process Analysis and Control Using Displacement Chromatography as a First Step in Multidimensional Analyses (dLC X eLC)" illustrates another application of displacement chromatography. The concentrating effect of displacement chromatography offers the ability of isolating and purifying sufficient amounts of low-level components to allow for chemical and structural characterization of impurities and product isoforms. By accurately identifying trace components one can more efficiently scale up processes and understand transfer issues more completely.

Displacement chromatography is a reliable preparative tool for process-scale and lab-scale bioseparations and is characterized by high loadings, high recovery and high purity. SACHEM's Displacers, such as the Expell™ product line enable scientists to lower costs, shorten cycle time and improve product purity for any protein or peptide separation.  Expell's™ precision displacers are effective in cation exchange, anion exchange, reverse phase and hydrophobic interaction chromatography.

SACHEM will offer "The Expell™ Challenge" at the exhibition booth at HPLC. "The Expell™ Challenge is a game that helps us illustrates the principals of displacement chromatography in a fun way", explains Rosemary Hoffman, Director, Biotechnology Solutions Group. Top winners of The Expell™ Challenge will be awarded the new Apple Nano iPod.
